RBC Annual Report - 2013 | Page 28

Sandy Bartel It has been a challenging and exciting year for me this year as I have taken up the role of Enrich Life Co-ordinator and handed over the oversight of Connect Groups, Greeting and Connecting New People to Pastor Ian Elliss. I am really enjoying working on Enrich Life alongside Pastor Dan Beasy. There is more on that in the Enrich Life report. Women of Substance I have continued to oversee the Women’s Ministry, Women of Substance as we planned and held 4 events this year (the last is yet to come). The highlight this year so far has been the visit of our special guest speaker Patricia Weerakoon. About sixty women from RBC and the wider community came along to hear Patricia speak with eloquence and humour on sexual integrity from a woman’s point of view. We even had one lady come from as far away as Naracoorte just to hear Patricia! It was a great night, with those who attended blessed and encouraged by her teaching. All the events continue to be well attended with between forty and seventy ladies at each event. Planning is already underway for exciting events next year. A special thanks to the team who work tirelessly behind the scenes; Marisa Holden, Beth Morrow, Julie Say, Rochelle Botten, Charlotte Van Uitert and Lee Fairbank. You are fabulous to work with and awesome women of God! There is plenty of room if you would like to join the team! I’d be very happy to speak with anyone interested. Now You’re Cooking I have also continued to run the Cooking on a Budget classes. We have undergone a name change and we are now called Now You’re Cooking. We have run 6 courses this year with another two planned at the time of writing this report. We have welcomed new team members Marisa Holden and Deidre Atkins to the team but still need more helpers. I would love to talk with anyone who is interested – guys too! The classes continue to be well attended with most being full. Ninety eight percent of attendees are from the wider community and nearly all come back for a second or third class.
