RBA F CUS |8 RBA at the Myanmar Financial Center grand opening On our international journey to promote retail banking as a recognised profession, chairman and founder Michael Lafferty and CEO Evelyn Hunter visited Asia in July, with a trip to Myanmar for the grand opening of the Myanmar Financial Center (MFC) being a special highlight. While there, Michael Lafferty was also afforded the opportunity to speak at the first MFC retail banking workshop & seminar. MFC aims to enrol over 1,000 professionals on programmes before the end of the year, providing a comprehensive choice of certifications that are immediately applicable in the workplace. Each course of study has been designed to fortify existing professional experience with www.retailbanking-academy.org an internationally recognised accreditation, enabling local business professionals to better serve the region’s growing financing needs. RBA has partnered with MFC to bring professional education in retail banking to Myanmar where we will jointly offer our flagship certifications in retail banking and cards and payment – as well as shorter certification programmes in Branch Management and Customer Service, recognised by the Central Bank of Myanmar and the country’s Ministry of Planning and Finance.
