As we head into winter , this month we take a look at how prices have moved on Australia ’ s ski fields . Similar to what we saw in beachside locations , our mountain regions also saw very strong demand through the pandemic .
Topping the list is Mount Buller where prices increased by more than 70 per cent compared to prior to the pandemic . With a median price of $ 1.4 million , it ’ s currently the third most expensive ski resort in Australia . However , it ’ s a bargain compared to the Perisher Valley which now has a median close to $ 2.85 million . If you ’ re looking for a relative bargain , it may be worth looking at Mt Hotham . With a median now of $ 572,000 , it ’ s seen a significant increase over the past two years .
What ’ s the outlook for pricing at Australian ski resorts ? With snow already starting to fall , it ’ s setting up to be a strong season , particularly now borders have reopened and we can all ski where we want once again .
