While Australian house prices increased by 30 per cent through the pandemic , population movement , greater demand for holiday homes , and a big pick up in investor activity drove up price growth throughout regional NSW . Continuing growth that was already strong prior to the pandemic was the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven . Prices didn ’ t quite double but with an increase of 86 per cent , it certainly ranked as one of the most rapid increases in the country . Coming in second was perennial favourite , Richmond-Tweed , where prices are up just over 70 per cent .
