Chairman’s Report For General Meeting 26th and 27th May 2018 at Parkes D9710 Looking forward to our next RAWCS Easter Region Meeting at Parkes at the Parkes Golf Club, it promises to be another informative and idea sharing weekend. Come along and bring some other Rotarians and expose them to the wonderful work that RAWCS does. The Parkes Rotary Club will provide Sunday breakfast at the Golf Club from 7:00am at $10 per head for a continental breakfast or bacon and eggs. Nothing better than a Rotary BBQ breakfast! Last General Meeting 10th & 11th February 2018 at Wauchope D9650 Thank you to Reg Pierce and his committee who hosted a wonderful weekend in Wauchope. The venue was great, food delicious and the attendees passionate and motivated with RAWCS. I truly be- lieve if we can get more Rotarians to attend these meeting we will grow RAWCS and their engage- ment greatly. Thank you to the Pink Umbrella Foundation for their generous support. 6 Project Managers received $1,000 for their project to do good in the world. Rotary Australia Compassionate Grants - Dick Smith Donation This is moving along with many grants provided and I understand Dick Smith is more than happy with progress. Effective June, some $383,000 of the million dollars had been allocated to grants. However, applications for grant monies seem to have slowed up. Did you know? RAWCS is a facilitator of Rotary Clubs humanitari- an projects and does not have any funds for grants, [such as the Rotary Foundation.] The only exception to this is the Dick Smith donation which is being distributed via RABS to disadvantaged Australians via Rotary club specific projects. RAWCS annual Meeting for Region Chairs and Project Coordinator’s This was held from Friday 4th April 2018 until Sun- day 6th April 2018 in Melbourne at Cilom’s Motel Tullamarine. In attendance from Eastern Region were Sue O’Neill, John Bennetts, and Lloyd Chatfield. It was an informative weekend full of information and discussion. 3 There were break out ses- sion where the Region Chairs met and reviewed draft Position Descriptions while simultaneously the Website committee met. Sessions were held on: * RAWCS Financial Facts - Mike Whitehouse National Treasurer * Effective Communication RAWCS/Rotary & Beyond. Rotary Down Under CEO Debbie Crowther. * The Future Directions Strategic Action Plan. Facilitated by Greg Hudson * Partnerships with the corporate/business sec- tors * Workshop Outcomes & Strategies A special thanks to all who attended the week- end. Great to know that the National Board are working on the changing future of RAWCS. Project application is now live: http:// rawcs.org.au/register-projects/ I am looking forward to returning with the team to our club projects in PNG very soon.
