I caught up with these three incredible ladies at Starbucks in
Oakland California, before the Wal-Mart closure off Hegenberger
road. The moment we sat down they were nothing but positive
souls of enlightenment, for me it was refreshing to see a business
of African American women that were not only talented,
intelligent and successful, but the media would have us thinking
we didn't get along, business wise. But these ladies, see they are
the breath of fresh truth we?ve been looking for. Who are they you
ask? These three ladies Jeanette Bartholomew, Claudette Oatis &
Arnette Oatis have made a lane in the music & talent
management industry and are reaching new heights.
Black Pearl Entertainment is a group of collective, amazing
African American women from 3 very different paths of life,
brought together for their love of music. Black Pearl
Entertainment is an all-inclusive artist development, promotions,
and public relations company offering administrative support for
artists and labels in the entertainment industry. Jeanette the
"Queen Informer " from the well-known Bay Area show in the
early 90's "1-2, 1-2" she created Black Pearl Entertainment group
after the show ended. Followed by one of 2 best friends who is
one part twin Claudette Oatis joined in after obtaining her degree
at UC Berkeley in journalism. And to this date she is the go to
person of Black Pearl Entertainment gaining access & interviews
such as the likes of Janet Jackson, ?Cedric ?The Entertainer ?, Master
P, Cheryl Underwood & many more. Last but not least there were
three Ms. Arnette Oatis twin sister to Claudette Oatis joined in ,
Arnette put her communications degree from UC Berkeley to
work being Black Pearl Entertainments' secret hand she is in
charge of all Black Pearls contract negotiations, legal affairs, and
accounting.
Together these three ladies form a business of one stop
shop that suits all their clients?needs. They have been in business
since 1996 and this says a lot coming from a place we all call
home, Oakland.
