Introduction
I am Albert N Grashious, a student of Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology.
I grew up in Cochin, Kerala.
I had a keen interest in art and enjoyed drawing as a child. According to my parents, I drew from the age of 1 and
when I was 3 years old I made all the guests coming to my home draw cars. I got more opportunities to draw and
paint as I grew up, although weekly art classes in school were the only formal education I had in art. When I was 5, I
won a district level coloring competition.
What attracted me to Srishti after I completed school was the fact that I enjoyed Art and I really didn’t want to be
in an educational system that had exams. I came to Srishti knowing very little about design, since I was not exposed
to the world of design growing up. I did not have any moment in school where I proved my academic or competitive
capabilities. As each year in school passed I kept losing my confidence in my abilities. But meanwhile, I held on to my
artistic and creative side at a personal level.
When I came to Srishti, I realised I was here to create new things. I believed I can create anything I wanted just by
imagining the world as the clay and my physical energy as the hands using which I can mould. The belief that I can
create new things, pushes me to invest a lot of my energy into projects. I have gained a lot by being in the projects
and courses Srishti offers. Srishti is one place where you find smart people. I tried making as many friends in college as
I can because I knew it would expand my worldview and social skills.
I took it upon myself to choose projects in college which had a client. The project with S-labs, where we created
brand activation campaigns for Unilever was a phenomenal experience for me. It gave me a flavour of how people
worked in real life working conditions. I realized how important it was to develop a certain skill in order to thrive in
the professional world. From then on, I decided to take my specialization seriously and give my best effort absorbing
Visual Communication design.
