Hunt (609 yards). His fi ve rushing touchdowns
are tied for the most in the league.
As the Jaguars continue to try to fi nd
consistency in the passing game, the rookie
running back has made a contribution there
with 13 receptions for 128 yards and another
touchdown.
The offensive line has been a major part of
his success. Tyler Shatley fi lled in at center
last week for an ailing Brandon Linder, but
the rest of the group has stayed intact: rookie
left tackle Cam Robinson, left guard Patrick
Omameh, right guard A.J. Cann and right tackle
Jermey Parnell.

With the Jaguars leading, 20-9, they handed
the ball off 12 times and kicked a fi eld goal
to increase the lead to 23-9, while burning
8:07 off the fourth-quarter game clock. Rookie
running back Leonard Fournette carried the
ball eight times on the drive for 43 bruising
yards, including carries of 13, 11 and 12 yards.
Veteran running back Chris Ivory spelled him on
four carries for 24 yards, including a 19-yarder.
“Coach was making the calls, particularly for
the running back and o-line,” Fournette said of
the drive after the game. “I kept telling them
to stay focused. A lot of chatter was going on.
Throughout the duration of the game, we kept
fi ghting. When adversity hit, we kept fi ghting
and moved forward.”
Later in the fourth quarter, Fournette broke the
game open with an all-too-familiar scene from
his college days at Louisiana State – a franchise
regular season best 90-yard touchdown run.
Fournette has carried the ball a league-high
109 times for 466 yards, the second-most in
the league behind Chiefs running back Kareem
The Jaguars have the best rushing offense in
professional football, and a defense that is
the best in the league at taking away the ball.
Keep doing these things consistently, and the
Jaguars have a recipe for success in the middle
part of the 2017 schedule.
The Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams (3-2) are coming off a
16-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week,
and are starting a long road trek, following
this week’s game in Jacksonville with a trip
to London to face the Arizona Cardinals next
week. The Rams bye follows in Week 8.
The Rams rank fi fth in the NFL in total offense.
Quarterback Jared Goff is starting to come
into his own in 2017, while running back
Todd Gurley has been a dual threat. The former
Georgia running back has 405 yards on 100
carries with four rushing touchdowns, but he
is also the leading receiver for Los Angeles,
posting 22 receptions for 241 yards and three
scores.
On defense, the Rams allowed a season-low
16 points last week in the loss and rank 20th
overall in the NFL, ninth against the pass and
27th against the run. Defensive lineman Aaron
Donald missed the preseason and Week 1,
but has started to improve as the season has
moved on, posting fi ve quarterback hits and
two tackles for loss in last week’s game.
