This colorful , aptly named bird is a member of the Toucan family . It can grow to 18 inches long and weighs a mere 4-6 ounces . It is believed to nest in tree cavities .
Where found : Only in Brazil south of the Amazon River ; moist tropical forest , gallery forest and some " cerrado " ( dry savanna woodland ).
Food source : Primarily fruit , but also insects , eggs , and small vertebrates .
Main threats : Deforestation from agriculture and livestock farming and ranching ; capture for illegal pet trade .

Black-faced Black Spider Monkey ( Endangered )
Black-faced Black Spider Monkeys are restricted to primary forest , traveling and foraging in the upper levels of the forest and rarely seen in the understory . They hang from branches and move using their arms ( known as “ brachiation ”) far more often than they walk or run on all fours .
Where found : Lowland unflooded forest , semi-deciduous forest , transitional forest as well as riparian and flooded forest in Brazil , Bolivia and Peru .
Food source : Predominantly mature , soft fruits of a wide variety of species .
Main threats : Habitat loss and degradation ; hunting .
