Andrea ’ s Farewell
We all have that ONE time when you gave some lucky girl your ‘ A ’ Game . She laughed at all your jokes , she was wowed by your achievements , impressed by your networks …… damn , she even wondered how the bar man knows you from way back ! In the bedroom too you were ‘ James Bond ’…… and to prove that she used phrases like ‘ Where did you learn that ’, ‘ I ’ ve never felt like that before ’, ‘ Please give it to me one more time ’….. Yeah , That ’ s you in your prime . And as you adjust your clothing in front of the mirror , even your reflection says ‘ You are the man ’…… you humbly agree . Well , that ’ s how the tourers checked into the game for the first installment of the contest with the non - tourers . Fresh from a successful outing in Naivasha on and off the pitch , it was kind of justified . Their confidence is understandable by taking a quick glimpse into their team sheet . They had a solid defense in Musa , Omosh , Chairman & the all rounded Uche . Their midfield a good mix of youth in Mamati , the creativity and experience of Adwet , the wisdom and crossing ability of Moibi crowned by the technical ability of Wandere . They also had the discipline of Izo , ball control of Kimash and Nduati to provide the width . Add some of the BD players and the sub Faisal , GAME ON . There is something about the Bosses PA that always makes her very attractive . Perhaps it ’ s her flawless dressing , extreme confidence , her access to information about who is getting fired or hired etc . You can ’ t approach her coz rumor is that she ’ s also the bosses girl . Few men dare approach her , making her lonely and left out when other office guys go for a drink . Then Enters the RWFC member ( subs paid and all ), he thrives in such situations . Always daring the status quo . She notices his bravado and rewards him with a short but intense session usually in the car park or office party etc . This describes the Non Tourers , a hurriedly assembled outfit christened El formidable by their captain Alonzi . Internals are very competitive and expecting leniency is foolhardy . The game started with the NT three men short . Efforts by the captain to borrow players was met with strong retorts about preparedness , and ‘ We don ’ t care ’ etc . The Tourers had the upper hand in the early exchanges with crisp passing and movement . They had to crack a defense of Butcher , Otenga , Foster and Axel . They used the wings a lot with Moibi doing most of the damage on the right wing . Tillman was appointed to marshal the left midfield for the NT . Our captain did his best to be the libero . Back to the game , the Tourers kept piling the pressure and I saw a goal get in while still changing … not sure who scored . The makeshift keeper in Eric stood no chance . Self and solo got into the field of play and the game got more balanced . However , their rhythm was in full swing and they managed to release Wandere who had the luxury of dodging the keeper for 2-0 . NT got some passes going . A ball from axel was met by Tillman and after some shooting and rebounding , Solomon coolly placed the ball from distance into an empty net .
2-1 . More pressure was applied and after a shot hit the cross bar , Tillman followed with a strong header for 2-2 . The tourers got themselves together and broke the badly organized off side trap for 3-2 . On the strength of this , some more good passing and another bad off side trap released Mamati to make the scores 4-2 . This is still the first half ! Shortly after , Makach was released for a well taken low shot on the near post and 4-3 . NB : Job had just come in to replace Izo . Some changes in personnel at half time on both sides and game on . By this time , the NT were having a more purposeful game with the introduction of Edu & Okeke . Job tried to make a goal kick clearance that was intercepted by makach . He passed to me on his left pulling the defenders towards me , I then passed it to the right to the open Alonzi with a chance to shoot . The defenders saw that as the immediate danger and shifted in his direction only for him to coolly return the pass one touch ….. we equalized 4-4 . From here it was Ping Pong soccer with misses on each end . As the darkness set it in the NT won a set of corners . The most notable resulted in well taken curler by Alonzi . The defender on the near post did not jump high enough and Job did his best to punch it out but his position only directed the ball into his own net . 5-4 it ended in favor of the NT . We drank canned beer during the third half as we try resolve the issues with KFEET …… Lets discuss other issues after the final chapter of this duel this evening at BGE ……
