They also set new traction motors. We also heard many interesting things about the company policy, but the most exciting moment for us was when we entered locomotive driving cabs. We first entered the gas turbine – electric locomotive. These locomotive use a gas turbine to drive an electric generator or alternator and so they have a positive impact on environment protection. Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina bought one of these locomotives for 1.5 million euros. We just hope that these locomotives will also appear on our railways. Later we entered the driving cab of a diesel locomotive. As we know, this type of locomotive is commonly used for shunting trains. Our hosts informed us that this locomotive was repaired at the CZ LOKO factory and that it costed about 150 000 euros. Both driving cabs of this locomotive have a modern design.

Prague

Anyone who has visited Prague knows why it is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and why it is called Golden City. We started the tour around Prague in front of the National Museum with the story about this significant institution. We also talked about the brave man, Jan Palach, who committed suicide as political protest not far from the museum building. Then we walked over Wenceslas Square toward Old Town Square, which was crowded with people. The dominant position at this square is taken by the Astronomical Clock – Orloj. There are many interesting stories about this clock and they do not leave anyone indifferent. We also took a walk down Golden Lane, where the famous writer Franz Kafka used to come for about two years to write in peace.
