II has been working very closely with the Ministry of Railways on
various initiatives of Indian Railways (IR) by actively engaging the
industry in IR’s continuous efforts of modernization and innovations
to run an effective Rail Transportation System in the country.
International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) and International
Rail Conference, organized biennially since 1990, are some of the initiatives of CII in
association with Indian Railways towards this direction. CII also organizes InnoRail
India - International Exhibition and Conference for Innovations in Rail Transportation
Sector, in association with Research Design & Standards Organization (RDSO),
Ministry of Railways, since 2014 as a biennial show. The next edition of InnoRail
India is scheduled for November, 2018.
International Rail Coach Expo (IRCE 2018) is yet another initiative of CII, in
association with the Integral Coach factory ( ICF), Ministry of Railways, with a
special focus on Rail Coaches and Train Sets. The three days event was held from
17th to 19th May 2018 at RPF Parade Ground, ICF, Chennai, India.
IRCE 2018 is aimed at creating a neutral platform for the industry to display latest
technology, and related products and services, for Rail Coaches and Train Sets,
thus helping the Indian Railways to identify latest products and innovations for its
future expansion and modernization plans in this segment.
IRCE 2018, being the first edition and first of its kind exhibition, held over a gross
area of 10,000 sqmtrs., has attracted participation of around 100 companies from
14 countries (Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India,
Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE and USA). The display profile of IRCE 2018 exhibition covered a variety
of innovations, technologies, and products for modern Rail Coaches and Train Sets. The special pavilion of ICF and other
Coach Manufacturing Units of Indian Railways, specially focusing on Rail Coaches and Train Sets, at the exhibition, provided an
opportunity for the suppliers to understand future requirements of Indian Railways and align their production plans accordingly.
