HSR Project 108 | Article The next UIC World Congress on High Speed Rail, the largest international congress and exhibition devoted to High Speed Rail in the world, will be held from 8 to 11 May 2018 in Ankara at the Chamber of Commerce Convention Center. The Congress is being jointly organized by UIC, the worldwide railway organization, and Turkish state railways TCDD, under the high patronage of the government of Turkey and the support of several leading international organizations. The main theme of the Congress is " Sharing knowledge for sustainable and competitive operations ". This 10 th edition of the Congress is being organized around 3 main blocks: sessions, professional exhibition and technical visits. 4 plenary sessions and 25 parallel sessions will revolve around the most significant technical, economic and social streams. In addition, 2 round tables will give participants the opportunity to interact and exchange knowledge. Participants will include political decision-makers at a national and local level, representatives of governments, international institutions, key economical/financial/environmental organizations, financial institutions, industry research centers, universities, the global high-speed rail supply industry and the international press. High-level speakers and participants will meet to consider and discuss all issues linked to high-speed rail development. This includes political and strategic planning, innovative financing solutions, digitalization, energy and carbon balance, technological innovations, standards and interoperability, safety and security management, research, trends in commercial concepts and services, and partnerships.
