“[During] my X Factor show, I was
standing up on stage, and before it
began, I just completely blanked.
The intro [was playing], and I was
like, ‘I have no idea what I’m about
to sing.’ And then it just came back
with muscle memory. I used to
psych myself out big time with that.”
But she doesn’t let it stress her out
these days. “If I forget the words,
which I have and I continue to do,
then I just make up some sort of
gibberish that sounds almost like
[the right lyrics]. I probably will
connect eyes with a fan, and they’ll
look at me like, ‘You don’t know
what you’re doing.’ And I’ll smile
back at them like, ‘You caught me.’
And then we’ll move on.”
