Born in Glennville, Georgia, 60 miles west of Savannah, the 25-yearold peach took the scenic route on her path to a music career. Her claim
to fame can really be attributed to her roles on programs such as Big
Time Rush, No Ordinary Family, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Tarver’s main love has always been performing, but it’s her passion for
music that’s stolen her heart.
She grew up in a musical family; her mother sang and her father played
guitar. Living in rural Georgia provided few opportunities to play music
and to act outside of school plays and classes at the local dance theater.
It took auditioning on a whim for a reality show for Tarver to realize that
performing on a much bigger scale could actually become her career.
“I really didn’t get the idea to pursue a career in music or acting until I
did the show American Juniors when I was 13,” she explains. “I ended up
making it to the top 10 and performed all summer. It was amazing to
realize that people could do this for a living.”
