After finishing a meal at
Downtown Los Angeles
hotspot Urth Cafe,
Katelyn Tarver can’t help
but beam. Walking across the street to
a nearby industrial loft space, the conversation
shifts from her delightful lunch to her budding
music career. Sitting down in a patio area, Tarver
basks confidently under the California sun as
she talks about her plans. Her untitled third and
upcoming album, which has been in the works
for nearly two and a half years, is finally almost
ready to be unveiled to a wider audience.
“I’ve always felt like I’ve been more in the music
world,” the singer says with a charming Southern
drawl. “I actually moved to L.A. to pursue music,
and the acting almost feels like a side project. It’s
obviously been a huge part of my career so far.
But I really have focused on music the past few
years to write the best songs I could.”
