the Luther or Edward Cole blacksmith shops, New Bedford, MA. Length 38 ¼ in. 500/700

HARPOON, circa 1850, toggle head with iron shaft
continuing to expansion socket, signed with blacksmith’s mark
“TP.” Complete with wooden pole handle, rigged with “iron
strap” attached rope line.
