RAF VEHICLE & MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
The specialisation of RAF Vehicle & Mechanical Equipment Technician, also known as General Technician( Mechanical) is part of the Engineering Profession within the RAF, which also includes Engineer Officer AeroSystems, Aircraft Technician( Avionics), Aircraft Technician( Mechanical), RAF Electrician, General Technician Workshops, Weapon Technician and Survival Equipment Specialist.
Professions in the RAF are distinct areas of defence expertise where common skills and attributes are required to deliver on demand. Whilst Service Personnel can expect to spend the majority of their career in their chosen Specialisation they may be employed in any of the Specialisations within their Profession: this will depend upon aptitude, qualifications, career aspirations and the Service need.
