Qualifications
You will need GCSE National s at Grade C ( Grade 4 to 5 with effect from Aug 17 ) in English Language or SCE Standard Grades at Grade 2 / Scottish 5 ( Grade A – C ) in English .
Additional requirement : You can apply for this role with a provisional UK Driving licence but MUST hold a full UK manual driving licence prior to being allocated to recruit training ( Automatic only driving license will not be accepted ).
You must meet the required minimum standard of colour perception . The RAF Police is a conviction free specialisation therefore ALL previous convictions must be declared at application .

Residency
Whether or not you were born in the United Kingdom , you should normally have resided there for the 5 years immediately preceding your application , but candidates with a minimum of 3 years may be considered . If you have resided abroad for a period within this timeframe , dependant on the circumstances you may still be eligible on a case by case basis .

You will be assessed on physical fitness and medical eligibility . Additionally , you will also be required to complete the Defence Aptitude Assessment at your local AFCO to a standard appropriate to your choice of specialisation .
