So here it is, my very first Magazine. Now I have to think about what I can fill it with but it's very exciting to start something new.
For those who are new to my photography page my name is Raewyn Murray and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand.
I'm married to David who is from Ireland and together we have four gorgeous daughters.
I started my own photography business just over 2 years ago and have mostly been doing outside photography. I recently turned part of my garage into a studio so that I can now take portraits for those who prefer. It's still not quite finished to my liking (as it is in my garage) but it's there. Quite good actually having your place of work just down the hall so you shouldn't be late for appointments!
I guess my specialty is really in families and younger children and I love taking photos of animals. I've probably chosen the hardest subjects in children and animals but I love the results at the end and if you're gentle and caring with them it all comes together.
For the last two years I have also had the privilege of photographing the Buskers who come to Christchurch for the World Buskers Festival - that is an amazing gig to do and of course so much fun. It's one of the best things I could ever hope to do - the colours, the sparkles, the characters that perform and of course the audience participation, it's just so much fun to see people get involved in an amazing event.
I have done quite a few different shoots and all have been quite different from a 5 year olds birthday party to a 90 year olds birthday party, bands, events of various kinds and a wedding. I am pleased to say I have 2 more weddings booked for this summer so all very exciting as I'm only just branching out into that aspect of photography.
