Radiation Protection Today was created to reach our SRP membership and beyond in a more informal way . At the end of February 2021 , a working group of the SRP Communications Committee was formed to develop the magazine . The Magazine Editorial Team is made up of members who span the interests of SRP membership . This includes representatives from the nuclear industry , general industry , the regulators , SRP , academia and suppliers . It has been meeting regularly to discuss what we would like to see in the magazine , and we really want to make this a useful , practical and enjoyable reference for all of our members .
We will be featuring content on practical radiation protection issues , changes in regulations , what is happening in the Society , items of interest from around the world , lessons from history , words of wisdom from our more experienced readers , and information for the rising generation as well as information in layman ’ s terms on radiation protection . We will also have more lighthearted pages for our younger ( and older ) readers . We aim to reach a broad section of the radiation protection community and want to make the magazine of interest to practitioners in all uses of radiation .

However , we need your help ! We want your ideas and contributions :
• Tell us what would interest you to see in the magazine
• Share lessons you have learned , or just discuss what you are currently working on that might be of interest to our readers
• If you have an article you would like to contribute , please send it in for consideration
• If you have a question you would like to see addressed , then “ Ask SRP ”. Post your questions on the general discussion forum on the SRP website , and we will answer them in a future issue
• If you are willing to be contacted about writing an article or to help us in some way , let us know !
Remember that what is routine or mundane to you might be interesting and useful to many of our readers .
