British Standards Institute ( BSI ) The Legislation and Standards Committee has recently appointed Jonathan Coleman-Zheng to represent SRP on the BSI Committee for Radiation Protection ( BSI Committee NCE / 2 ). Jonathan started his career at Sellafield and developed into an instrumentation specialist working variously for Siemens and Mirion Technologies ( Canberra ) SAS where he ended up on the Executive Committee of Canberra – AREVA Nuclear Measurements Business Unit as Vice President , Asia . In this role he worked in countries including Japan , China and Singapore . Other members on this BSI Committee ( which represents the UK in the development of national and international standards ) include Paul Kayente ( University of Oxford ) and Derek Bingham ( AWE ).

SRP is also represented ( by member Joe Toole ) on BSI Technical Committee EH / 3 / 8 which considers the standardisation of radioactivity measurement methods used in the field of water quality assessment . Activity in this area has been significant and a growing list of published and draft radioanalytical methods has been produced .
