USTA Partners in New Laver Cup
The USTA has become a partner in the Laver Cup , a new annual three-day men ’ s team tennis competition that will pit a team of six of the best players from Europe against six players from the rest of the world . For the first three years , starting in 2017 , Bjorn Borg will captain Team Europe while John McEnroe will lead The World . Both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have committed to compete in the inaugural event , which will take place Sept . 22-24 at the O2 arena in Prague , Czech Republic , which has previously hosted events such as the Davis Cup finals . Organizers announced their commitment to hold the second Laver Cup in 2018 in the United States at a site to be determined .

The 2016 ITF World Champions have been named as Andy Murray and Angelique Kerber , after both players ended the seasons as world # 1s for the first time . Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares and Caroline Garcia & Kristina Mladenovic were named as Doubles World Champions . The junior awards went to Miomir Kecmanovic and Anastasia Potapova , while Gordon Reid and Jiske Griffioen claimed the wheelchair tennis titles .
Roger Federer was awarded the ATP World Tour ’ s Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the 12th time , despite having played only 28 matches in 2016 , and also received the Fans ’ Favourite Awardfor a 14th consecutive year . Taylor Fritz won the Star of Tomorrow Award , while Most Improved Player went to Lucas Pouille . Stan Wawrinka ’ s coach Magnus Norman won the inaugural Coach of the Year prize .

Andy lives in Marlow with his partner and four children and his main hobby is supporting Watford FC .

With over 30 years ' experience in the industry , David has an outstanding track record in the public and private sectors . His extensive knowledge and passion for all things sport drive him to think outside the box . Programme and project start-ups and developments are David ' s first place specialisms , with corporate governance and organisational change and improvement close runners-up . Key career achievements include the establishment of the Lottery Sports Fund , ' World Class ' elite per-formance programmes and the English Institute of Sport . David delivers Corporate Governance Workshops for Board Members and lectures on behalf of the Char-tered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy ( CIPFA ). He is also a visiting lecturer at Cass Business School , City University . In December 2014 , he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Business Admin-istration by the University of Bath . David is a keen follower of the world tennis circuit and a passionate follower of Wimbledon / AFC Wimble-don Football Club .
