THE THIRD PAN AFRICAN DATA CENTRE CONFERENCE

The third Pan African Data Centre conference was held 4-6 June in Gauteng. The data centre cooling sector had an outsized representation.

Event director Hugh Robinson had the following to say:

“ Data centres provide the digital backbone that supports the digital infrastructure upon which services such a cloud-based solutions, ICT and data is held, that manifests itself as your bank, your GPS, telemedicine, remote learning, working from home, your telephone.”
“ The growth of the data centre market is in its infancy on the continent but is expected to generate EUR5.7-billion( R120- billion) in capital investment in the next five years and continue growing at an accelerating pace for the next 15 years.
“ The Pan African Data Centre Exhibition and Conference is designed to bring all those involved in the African data centre sector together. From those looking to invest and develop the market, design and build data centres, through to those in operational roles looking at how they can make their data centres operation more effective, efficient, sustainable, safe secure
