CLOSED CIRCUIT COOLING
SOLUTION DONATED TO ACRA
Industrial Water Cooling ( IWC ) recently donated a fully operational closed circuit cooling system to the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Academy ( ACRA ).
The cooling system which includes IWC ’ s “ baby ” package cooling tower and plate heat exchanger , will be used to train students in all aspects of process cooling .
The package cooling tower can be used in any small to medium size industry such as distilleries , dry cleaners and has even been used in a Gelati ice cream store . The heat exchanger can also be used for many applications , such as water / water and water / oil up to 110 ° C .
The IWC team of Deon Fawell - national business development manager and Christine Storey - marketing and communications manager , were on site to present and hand the tower over to Grant Laidlaw , chief executive officer of ACRA , who was well pleased with the donation .
The addition of equipment such as this enables training providers to increase the scope of work that students are able to be exposed to , see first hand , and learn about their working which ultimately adds value to the industry . It also helps training providers to stay current with new technology and designs .
ACRA is a SETA accredited trade test centre offering learnerships , apprenticeships and adult training in all aspects of the air conditioning and refrigeration fields up to a technician level . Every student who attends a course is given an in-depth theoretical knowledge as well as the practical skills required to achieve competency in the workplace .

The academy , with its head office in Kempton Park , South Africa , has a large fully equipped 1200m 2 workshop that provides a range of training for students . They also have training centres in KwaZulu-Natal and Kimberly , and are keen to grow their national footprint and expand into Africa . RACA
