SAIRAC KZN ANNUAL GOLF DAY
By the SAIRAC Durban committee
The centre ’ s annual golf day was held on 1 July 2022 at the Beachwood Country Club in Durban .
The committee expressed much gratitude stating , “ We were truly blessed by the generosity of our industry in the prizes that they donated to the golf day . We must give praise to each and every one of our members , players , sponsors , and committee members that made this event a roaring success .”
The day ’ s play hosted a total of 27 x 4-balls as well as sponsors on some of the tee-boxes , and prizes from some of the companies participating – “ Without such support , this golf day would not be as successful ,” the committee added .
A special mention was comically added of one player in
particular who was willing to ‘ take a ball to the head ’ just to be in the day ’ s review - Mr Alvin Cawthorn from Dunham Bush was hit on the ear and had to be rested and receive medical attention . Fortunately , it was confirmed that Mr Cawthorn was already on the mend shortly after the incident and the committee wishes him a full recovery .
This year ’ s function was hosted by Mr Pieter Rischmuller ( also known as Piet Pompies ), and recognition and thanks were further noted for the attendance by the SAIRAC president , Mr Jaco Pieterse and the national treasurer , Mr Grant Laidlaw who made the trip from Johannesburg to support the day .
During the prizegiving participants , current members and future members were invited to join the committee and grow the SAIRAC DBN membership to its full potential .
