BLACKSTONE COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF MAJORITY STAKE OF COPELAND

Earlier this year , Blackstone and Emerson completed the previously announced acquisition of a majority stake in Emerson ’ s Climate Technologies business – a significant milestone in the HVAC and refrigeration ( HVAC & R ) industry leader ’ s journey to advance the next generation of climate technologies .
The new standalone business is named Copeland – building on the brand ’ s 100-year legacy , global recognition and influence across the HVAC & R industry . As a standalone company focused on serving the global HVAC & R market , Copeland ’ s product portfolio includes market-leading compressors , controls , thermostats , valves , software and monitoring solutions for residential , commercial and industrial customers .
Daniel de Beer , sub-Saharan Africa regional manager for Copeland , says that the organisation is energised for the future of the business and the opportunities ahead .
“ This is the start of an exciting chapter in our transformation ,” said De Beer . “ The Copeland and Blackstone teams are equally excited about what ’ s next , as we increase investment in innovation and programs to drive sustainability at scale , providing our customers with differentiated technology and value .”
“ Copeland was a natural fit for our new name , given the brand ’ s long history of pioneering the HVAC & R industry with categoryleading technology and solutions ,” De Beer continued . “ Many people within the industry were already familiar with the Copeland brand . ”
At the time of the announcement , Copeland CEO Ross B . With the focus that comes from being a standalone company and the support of our shareholders , Blackstone and Emerson , we plan to extend the company ’ s leadership position in the industry and develop new and integrated climate technology solutions . The Copeland business is made up of over 18 000 talented team members , who are aligned and committed to developing technologies and solutions that drive decarbonisation at scale , accelerate the global trend of electrification and deliver greater value for our customers and end users .”
Copeland is headquartered in the US with locations across the globe to serve its customers . The Middle East and Africa region is managed from Dubai . “ With the transition to a standalone company comes a renewed focus on enhancing our reach in the South Africa market ,” said De Beer . RACA
