i4 GROUP HOSTS GOLF DAY TO UNDERSCORE RE-BRANDING

The i4 Group hosted a well-supported golf day for its business partners – its first since Covid – to thank them for a highly successful year .

Group business development manager Darren Black organised the event and explains the motivation for the day as being “ to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for our clients to interact with us and each other .”

Golf is a popular sport among its target audience – a great opportunity for networking and building relationships . “ Our recent golf day event was not just about enjoying a game of golf . It was an opportunity for us to reconnect after Covid with our clients and express our gratitude for their continued support . It was also an opportunity to showcase i4 ’ s new approach to the market by serving as a platform to introduce our rebranded image , demonstrating that we are here to stay and thrive . We wanted to let our clients know that we are no longer just a group

The Building Technologies or traditional HVAC and BMS controls industry has seen several changes as the industry has matured – i4 Group was formed to embrace these changes and improve our service levels to the industry . “ Our strategy is to ensure the correct product is used to match project requirements , encompassing each level of the system – from the sensors at the edge to the process level through to supervisor for energy management , visualisation and alarming , and then beyond that to cloud level for executive reporting .
“ This new approach has been made possible by the integration of our import and distribution of royal brands such as Distech Controls and Siemens building technologies combined with local manufacture of both sheet metal and electronic controls products . Our manufacturing business is ISO9001 certified and manufactures type-tested modular electrical DB boards under license to Siemens as well as custom enclosures , DB boards and smart lockers . This integration allows us to create unique customised solutions for our clients ,” explains Black .
The market has matured to a focus on long-term value for the customer . Having a dedicated product import and distribution channel that provides certified training , technical support and multiple trained channel partners ( SI ’ s ) is key . Focusing on educating customers and assisting consultants in specifying the correct product mix for a project prevents customer lock-in . The old trend “ lock-in ” is where the importer of a product is also the integrator – leading to the client locked into a single supplier with no alternative supply or support channels .
“ The market has shifted , and we understand that relying solely on one brand is no longer sustainable . The South African market , like markets worldwide , demands diversification . We are committed to meeting this demand by expanding our product range and diversifying our offerings .”
