LG ON HVAC TRENDS AND PLANS :
WHAT TO EXPECT FOR 2021
By Shaun Scannell , LG Air Solutions general manager
Staying ahead of the curve means looking beyond where we are at now and finding new ways to excite our customers . That ’ s where HVAC trends come into play . At LG we are always on the lookout for emerging technologies and innovation to help achieve this goal .
As we look towards the future , there are already several emerging and existing trends that are shaping the commercial HVAC industry . From smart technologies to ecofriendly systems that ensure not only global sustainability but the longevity of devices , 2021 is shaping up to be revolutionary for the industry in the coming years .
LG Air Solutions
SMART TECHNOLOGIES One such innovation lies in smart technologies like mobile apps that allow building managers to control HVAC technology from one centralised point . Take , for example , smart thermostats that can detect additional measurements , such as humidity , temperature , and motion .
Additionally , apps allows you to control your smart devices through the use of a simple smartphone . Think your appliances can ' t grow and change with you ? Think again ! The more you use your smart appliances , the smarter they become by remembering usage habits to better anticipate your needs .
Similarly , solar HVAC solutions are popular in the field of sustainable energy . LG has been using solar HVAC units that can be added to existing buildings as well as new ones . These solar HVAC panels can be used for both heating and cooling , making them an attractive option to many business owners looking to go green .
GREEN TECHNOLOGY There is a world-wide drive for a greener , more environmentallyconscious way of living .
Being so focused on developing new , sustainable innovations , we include specialised filters throughout our home appliance ranges . It ’ s our Green Product Strategy that lets us reduce environmental impacts throughout the life cycle of products , particularly through the reduction of resource consumption , recyclability , increased energy efficiency , substituting hazardous substances , minimising noise and vibration , and reducing CO₂ emissions .
INVERTER TECHNOLOGY As more efficient , sustainable , and environmentally friendly technology becomes more important to businesses and
consumers , we ’ ll see inverter technology become standard in HVAC solutions .
Inverter technology is used to cool and warm a room to the desired temperature as quickly as possible and then efficiently maintain this temperature . This type of regulation increases efficiency , extends the life of components , and helps eliminate sharp fluctuations in the load the air-conditioner places on the power supply .
Some units use an inverter compressor to solve inefficiencies and noise problems , resulting in an air conditioner that cools faster , lasts longer , and runs quieter . Not only does it constantly adjust the compressor ' s speed to maintain desired temperature levels , it has a unique power saving operation range frequency that saves more energy compared to the conventional compressor .
This , paired with Ionizer technology that removes harmful substances and odours surrounding the unit , results in a fresher air supply for your home and business . It ’ s easy to see why this HVAC trend will soon become a standard that all solutions incorporate .
INTEGRATION STRATEGY Through the use of innovative filtration systems , we are able to protect users from all harmful substances , including odour , bacteria , allergen , virus , micro-dust , and mosquitos . While the antibacterial air filter is the first line of defence , it is still designed to initially capture dust particles over 10μm in size and then eliminate finer particles .
Plasmaster Ionizer , on the other hand , offers protection from odours and harmful substances in the air with over three million ions to sterilise not only the air passing through the air conditioner , but also surrounding surfaces , for a safer , cleaner environment .
Smart technologies are already making waves in the industry .
