eeting at the Engineering Council of South Africa’s (ECSA)
offices in Johannesburg, the two organisations signed the
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreeing to strengthen
advocacy in the industry, through education and research.
ECSA is happy with the MoU, stating that such proposals are
within their mandate and it is a mutually beneficial agreement
between the two organisations. CEO, Sipho Madonsela says,
“Signing of MoUs must come with commitment as they have to
be effective in meeting certain obligations.”
ASHRAE president, Richard Humphrey shares the same
sentiment, “What is in the paperwork must happen, otherwise it
just becomes paperwork.”
ECSA has signed MoUs with various Engineering Councils
around the world including Australia, Botswana and Mauritius.
The MoU is valid for three years with the option to extend
upon written confirmation. RACA
