RICKARD AIR DIFFUSION Rickard ’ s Multi-Zone Fan Coil Unit Controller is much more
than a traditional FCU controller . As the name suggests , the controller can be combined with Rickard ’ s VAV diffusers so that multiple zones can be controlled without the need for pressure sensors or dampers .
Since the FCU and diffusers are linked through the tried and tested MLM system , it can regulate fan speed and hence duct pressure by monitoring the diffusers damper position .
The benefits of a Mullti-Zone FCU controller over a traditional constant volume diffuser FCU system are as follows :
• Zones with different loads can be ducted to the same FCU .
• Every zone and occupant can be kept comfortable .
• Larger FCU ’ s can be selected to supply multiple zones and therefore reduce the system cost . Fan speed can be matched to diffuser demand , creating excellent circulation and the absence of dumping at low fan speeds .
• To conserve energy , the Multi-Zone Fan Coil Unit Controller can power down the Fan Coil Unit if the room is unoccupied or if a window or door is opened .
• By adding an iPSU , power and BMS connectivity can be added .
