FULL HOUSE AT SAIRAC JOHANNESBURG GOLF DAY

Having been postponed numerous times , the 32nd golf day held at the Johannesburg Country Club Woodmead in September 2021 , proved a hit once again for the centre .

No one could have asked for a better day as the 33 teams ’ players enjoyed the fun , sunshine , fresh air and company of their industry colleagues at the long-awaited day . Spirits were high from early morning on the driving range , with some players getting in a few practice shots before the shotgun start tee offs . Throughout the day , the mood was great with most players commenting that just to meet up with colleagues and get out of the office was very welcomed after having been tied down with many virtual engagements or remote working through the various stages of the pandemic and subsequent lockdown rules .
Sponsored holes on the day offered a networking opportunity with suppliers ( where applicable ) and also various games , and opportunities to show off skills and share in a few shooters or refreshments .
After all the players had completed the course , the prizegiving and auctions were held before dinner being served to both players and other industry members who came through to be a part of the evening . The master of ceremonies for the prizegiving event was entertainer and singer Piet Pompies , who announced all of the winners and conducted the auctions and games . Winners were presented their prizes by members of the centre team as well as SAIRAC president Jaco Pieterse .
“ As always , we had a full field of players and industry presence on almost all the tee boxes . The day was a huge success and all industry members attending had an entertaining day . We must again thank the Johannesburg Country Club and staff for hosting the day . On behalf of the SAIRAC Johannesburg committee , I would like to extend a special thank you to all of our sponsors , without you the day would not have been possible . Only through their continued support and generosity are we able to host a golf day of such a high standard - and with a bounty of prizes . A big thank you must also go to Mariet Pieterse , the SAIRAC Johannesburg secretary for helping to arrange an excellent day ,” said Gregory Grobbelaar , Johannesburg centre chairman .

WINNERS OF THE DAY
• The winning four ball for the day , winning the Baltimore Air Coil floating trophy sponsored in 1988 , a personalised whiskey set for each player and a certificate sponsored by Balitimore Air Coil ( handed over by Brett Keung ) went to Pieter Taljaard , Johan Swanepoel , Pieter Taljaard Senior and Charl Viljoen with a score of 102 count in points .
• Second place , winning a 90-minute experience at Land Rover Adventure or Jaguar Driving Skills Centre Johannesburg for each player was Sydney Haupt , Oswalf
