he Johannesburg branch of the South African Refrigeration
and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (SARACCA)
held its October 2018 meeting at The Country Club venue in
Woodmead. It was well attended by veteran members and
guests interested in joining the association.
The customary guest speaker talk was presented by
Stefan Sauer of Eazy Contracting, who spoke to the HVAC&R
audience about the company and how its solution can benefit
their contracting businesses. He touched on the challenges
commonly faced in the contracting industry and explained how
this cloud-based management solution can alleviate many of
these challenges and save time and money.
Sauer shared a short video on the software to practically
show how easy it is to use the software and its various
functionalities, from managing stock to optimising time spend
on site and job cards. Various contracting companies have
already switched to this software and he shared stories of how it
has benefitted them.
After enjoying some snacks and refreshments, the official
association meeting got under way to look at the various items
on the agenda. The general business outlook wasn’t too positive
and it seemed most were ready for 2018 to be over and hoping
for a fresh start in 2019.
Relevant items such as the new trade curriculum and
SANS 10147 revision were discussed. The importance of getting
a trade test was also highlighted, as there seems to be many
people with the skills that do not ever go to get the test.
Before concluding the meeting, a new chairman and vice
chairman were elected for the upcoming year. Congratulations
to Simon Mthethwa on his election as chairman and David
Botha as vice chairman. RACA
