GLOBAL WARMING REDUCTION AND CONSIDERATIONS
The chiller uses R410A as a refrigerant . The chiller in chilled beam applications reduces the carbon footprint by 30 %. The chiller ’ s Global Warming Potential is lower than the standard . The operating temperature is maintained , as once the desired temperature is reached , the chiller shuts off as the temperature is maintained .
By implementing an energy-efficient HVAC system and incorporating passive design elements , the WITS Flower Hall conversion project aims to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to global warming reduction efforts . The active chilled beam system ’ s reduced energy consumption compared to traditional HVAC systems directly lowers greenhouse gas emissions associated with building operation . The project aligns with the University ’ s commitment to sustainability and demonstrates the adoption of innovative solutions to mitigate climate change . RACA
