REFURBISHMENT
The efficient building
design for the new
Cummins head office in
Midrand includes several
innovative and energy-
saving technologies to
conform to the company’s
global image.
South Africa’s SANAE IV base in Antarctica was ready for a refurbish
in the base and equipment after running 24/7 for 18 years. To counter
location and weather conditions notable design features, energy saving
measures, and the latest sustainable technology systems were installed.

TAILOR-MADE FABRIC DUCTING
SOLUTION FOR CHAMDOR TRANSNET INYANDA: RETROFITTED
COMFORT AND EFFICIENCY
When the Chamdor Faktry Sales fabric warehouse in North Riding
expanded, it was time to upgrade its HVAC system as well. A full fresh
air evaporative cooling system with textile ducting was installed, serving
the now combined area of 5 991m 2 . The Johannesburg head office of Transnet Freight Rail required a
cost-saving approach in increasing the comfort levels inside the 12m
atrium with a glass façade and open areas. An underfloor HVAC
system helped reduce energy by a whopping 50%.
