getting ready glam

Some of my most cherished pictures and memories from my wedding day were the hours I spent getting ready with my family and friends. Even though you're not technically "camera ready" don't underestimate how much you're going to love these pics. After all, it's catching the last moments of you're single life! So if this sounds like it will be as special to you as it was to me, you'll want to find the perfect piece to get ready in. I chose a short, white silk robe and lace slip to make sure my hair or makeup wouldn't get messed up in the removal.

the reception dress

In case you're not familiar with this concept, as of late, brides have been pulling a costume change after dinner! In lieu of getting your train repeatedly stepped on or having bridesmaids hold up your dress so you can go to the bathroom for the fourth time - choose something short, simple, and sexy! Word of warning though, find something comfortable; you're going to be wearing this item at the end of the longest day of your life.

A New Hue

2012 and 2013 introduced something very new to the world of nuptials - The Pink Wedding Dress! Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon (just to name drop a few) all chose a blush hue to walk down the aisle in; but what does this mean for you? It means don't get caught up in white! If you're a traditionalist by all means, stick with it! But perhaps you could try out pink or other colors at a wedding shower or bachelorette party. Choose a shade that's part of your wedding palette, or a color that you always look fabulous in! After all, that's what it's all about!

get graphic Bridemaid's dresses... they say "you can wear it again!" but in your mind.. no, no you can't. Because let's be honest, traditionally these dresses are made to look great in the background, and no one wants to get dressed up for a future event with that 'less important' look in mind. I've been victim to many a bridesmaid dress, so you can imagine my elation when I stumbled upon a new trend. 2013 was the year of graphics from the world's top designers, and the bridal genre was no exception. Soft, floral graphics took over the runway for bridesmaids; and they truly are pieces you'll want to wear again. In addition to florals, many brides are considering a mod look for their court, choosing short, simple silhouettes with adorable dot or stripe detailing.
