MISTAKES BRIDES MAKE WHEN CHOOSING A DJ

MISTAKES BRIDES MAKE WHEN CHOOSING A DJ

Don't listen to your friends! When deciding on venues catering, cake, and flowers, couples make sure they meet their vendors and get to know their style. But often, choosing a DJ is a decision made over coffee with girlfriends. The problem is, what worked for your bestie, might not work for you. Don't take this decision lightly. The DJ will set the tone for your evening and can make or break your night!

Don't hire the cheapest! We know that weddings are expensive, and the costs just pile up in the final months. But a DJ might not be the best place to make a cut if you are hoping for a hoppin' evening. From the introduction to the last dance, the "fun-o-meter" of your night can depend on this person. Not all DJ's are created equal!

Ask other vendors! Caterers are there at the beginning of the night and through the dessert. They are a great source for referrals when it comes to who rocks and who bombs!

Find a DJ who is willing to meet with you ahead of time. Sure, you are overwhelmed with meetings and tastings, and fittings. But don't leave your requests to a last minute email. Does your DJ understand what "CHEESY" means to you? Maybe you LOVE Jason Mraz, but he has been put under the "do not play" list because it was assumed you wouldn't like it.

Don't have unrealistic expectations! Now how are you suppossed to have the cake cut, the first dance in, and the Macarena all squeezed into 20 minutes. Make sure you understand the flow of a reception when making your requests!

If you keep these tips in mind, your reception will be the talk of the town, come Monday morning!
