ENGAGE from Emma

Clark and I met the day after I moved into Monmouth College for my freshman year , his sophomore year . We have been together ever since — five years ! After we graduated college , Clark started a job in Washington , D . C . and I have been attending law school at Notre Dame . Long distance is the worst so whenever we get to see each other , we fill it with quality time .
While Clark was visiting my family and me in December , it was my idea ( or so I thought ) to have a date night at Tiramisu . Little did I know , that was his plan all along . When we pulled up to Washington Park , I commented on how pretty the Christmas lights were , suggesting that we take a quick walk around the park after dinner . Clark , however , insisted that we should take a walk before dinner ( that made me suspicious ). We held hands and walked up to the gazebo where I gave him a knowing smirk and he proceeded to smile and say “ Yeaaah .” He got down on one knee and the rest is a blur . I must have said yes at some point because he put the most beautiful ring on my finger . Clark had asked Rachel B Photography to capture the special moment and I am so glad . It was perfect !
