Honeymoon trends are changing in 2023 and it ’ s about time ! Over the past two years , we ’ ve seen an avalanche of new restrictions on international travel . Flying was less convenient and concerns of being quarantined in a new state or country made it less attractive . It was no surprise when we saw a rise in the “ mini moon ,” the “ staycation ” and short road trips . Couples were finding simpler ways to travel . Nearly 45 % of couples changed their honeymoon locations due to COVID-19 , according to the Wedding Wire Newlywed Report : COVID-19 Edition . Many tossed in their boarding passes , in favor of road trips . According to the website pitchup . com - a booking site for campgrounds , RV parks and glamping sites ; that also features walking routes , pubs and events - 2021 saw major increases in camping bookings . In some parts of the world this type of travel spiked 500 %! Using sites like this , travelers seeking privacy , social distancing , safety and quiet could book yurts , wigwams , and tipis .

They are once again getting in line for passports , planning for jet lag and weighing their carry ons .
For honeymoons specifically , Lori Shannon of Quincy ’ s Desitination Travel has said “ travel is back !” and is experiencing much more interest in luxury honeymoons to places like Europe , the Caribbean and Mexico .
