Radiology Requirements
In order to legally operate dental x-ray equipment and perform radiological procedures in Pennsylvania, EFDAs must pass the radiologic procedures exam adopted by the State Board of Dentistry. Once the exam has been passed, EFDAs may perform radiological procedures in the dental facility under the direct supervision of a dentist.
Evidence of having passed the required exam needs to be retained by both the EFDA and the dentist as evidence of the individual’ s authority to perform radiologic procedures.
