Radiology Requirements
In order to legally operate dental x-ray equipment and perform radiological procedures in Pennsylvania , EFDAs must pass the radiologic procedures exam adopted by the State Board of Dentistry . Once the exam has been passed , EFDAs may perform radiological procedures in the dental facility under the direct supervision of a dentist .
Evidence of having passed the required exam needs to be retained by both the EFDA and the dentist as evidence of the individual ’ s authority to perform radiologic procedures .
