ove , tradition , and miles of style converge in the breathtaking Brisbane wedding of Gina and James . The bride drew on her own creative spirit and passion for art , architecture , music and travel to create this luxurious and timeless celebration : a dream come true for the pair who first met in the digital realm . “ An instant recognition sparked in our hearts ,” says Gina of their first ‘ tangible ’ date at Stanley Restaurant , Howard Smith Wharves . “ In that moment , we sensed something special was unfolding , and we both knew our meeting held the promise of a remarkable journey .”
That journey took an exciting turn with a proposal at home ( Gina was awaiting her new Dyson vacuum cleaner and instead James surprised her with a cheeky proposal !), and plans for a traditional and elegant city wedding . “ Choosing our venues was a deeply personal and sentimental decision ,” Gina explains . “ As a Catholic , it was essential for me to have a church ceremony . The Cathedral of St . Stephen captivated me with its ethereal beauty and offered a sense of sacredness and spiritual significance .”
The couple then sought a Brisbane venue to match their desired aesthetic of classic sophistication — come rain or shine . “ Cloudland ’ s Rose Room captured our hearts instantly . It perfectly embodied the style and ambience we envisioned ,” says Gina of the luxe top-floor space . To create a look that dovetails beautifully into the venue ’ s signature features ( think pink marble , herringbone parquetry and touches of brass ) Gina enlisted stylist Main Event Weddings .
“ With a clear colour scheme of Cadillac-pink and white , we aimed to create a visual palette that exuded refined charm and a touch of whimsy ,” she says .
And although the bride didn ’ t initially consider a ‘ short ’ wedding dress , everything changed when she met couturier Andrzej Pytel of House of Ezis . “ I knew it was the perfect match for me ,” she says of the brand behind her softly sculptural showstopper . “ Choosing a dress from House of Ezis not only aligned with our desire to support local talent but also ensured I would be wearing a gown crafted with precision and love ,” she explains . To deliver classic lines for James and his men , the couple landed on custom tailored suiting from The Suit Firm .
The wedding day was everything the pair imagined , and more . “ One of our most cherished moments was exiting the Cathedral , and our loved ones surrounding us with warmth and congratulations ,” says Gina . Evernew Studio was on hand to capture the heartfelt moments as the newlyweds thanked their 130 guests and headed to the plush surrounds of the Rose Room for an evening of Champagne , dancing and joyful celebration . They even danced the rumba to Sade ’ s Smooth Operator before heading off to unwind in glorious Tasmania for their honeymoon . And while their day was visually breathtaking , Gina ’ s words of wisdom go beyond the polished exterior . “ Remember , perfection lies not in flawless execution but in the genuine love and connection you share ,” she says . “ Trust in the journey , enjoy the process , and cherish every precious moment .”
