When there ’ s a helicopter arrival involved , you know you ’ re in for a wedding treat . “ We didn ’ t have any special traditions as such ,” says Sarah of her gorgeous nuptials . “ But Garth and his groomsmen arrived in two helicopters , so I guess that ’ s a bit different !”
It was a showstopping moment in a love story that dates back to Garth interviewing Sarah for a position in his company . Neither could guess how their paths would eventually entwine . After two years as colleagues , the pair finally acknowledged the spark between them ... now they run a company together !
When Garth proposed , the surprise was twofold — after popping the question , he whisked Sarah away to a surprise dinner with 12 of her closest friends . Nice move ! And Sarah and her crew kept the excitement going in the lead-up to the big day . “ I enjoyed my hen ’ s night on a yacht with my bridesmaids while Garth celebrated with his groomsmen in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland ,” she says .
Thanks to a lucky discovery , the couple landed on the same page when deciding where to host friends and family for ‘ we do ’. “ We initially had very different views on what our wedding would look like ,” reveals Sarah . “ However , when we stumbled across Rosewood Estate , we both immediately fell in love .” Sitting pretty on the Lamington Plateau in the Scenic Rim region , the property offered breathtaking views and the perfect ceremony site . Sarah and Garth then turned to Scenic Rim Bride to help create a timeless wedding aesthetic . “ We both wanted a beautiful , soft , romantic wedding ,” says Sarah . “ Inspiration came from Pinterest / Instagram , and Bronwyn from Scenic Rim Bride was nothing less than amazing . She is such a beautiful woman with a heart of gold . So genuine .”
Another key creative was designer Brad Webb of darb bridal couture . When dreaming up a statement gown to suit the location , Sarah turned to master couturier Brad who brought the bride ’ s design brief to life with a luxurious one-of-a-kind creation .
On the big day ( after that awesome arrival ), Sarah and Garth were greeted by 85 of their nearest and dearest for a beautiful ceremony beneath brilliant-blue skies . With a white / blush scheme , Scenic Rim Bride had worked their magic alongside Bunch It Up , who kept the ceremony florals low and lush to showcase the fabulous view .
The couple ’ s elegant marquee reception immediately came alive with help from the Baker Boys Band , a surprise fireworks display , and delectable catering from Cuisine on Cue . The five-tier cake from Frosted Indulgence captured the mood of the day : elegant , timeless and stunning .
And what does marriage mean to the couple who really does work and play together . “ Marriage is everything to us ,” says Sarah . “ It means being united together forever .” It was also a heartfelt joining of the couple ’ s families , including Garth ’ s two children and Sarah ’ s three children .
And how do you follow up a high-flying wedding like this ? With an indulgent island honeymoon of course ! The newlyweds enjoyed another A-lister moment in The Whitsundays , checking into Hamilton Island ’ s sublime qualia resort .
