Dress them for the occasion
Whether it ’ s a floral collar , a tuxedo , or a ‘ best dog ’ fabric pennant , a pup in wedding attire is guaranteed to raise a smile . Just remember to schedule in a fresh wash and groom for the day before to ensure your dog looks ( and smells ) the part . Want to get a little matchymatchy ? Echo your groom ’ s palette with a cutie-pie bow tie in the same fabric or colour . Bow wow !
TIP : If your pooch isn ’ t keen on costumes , create a ‘ greenery lead ’ with vines and blooms instead .

Expand your ceremony circle
Most dogs are blissfully happy to sit at their owners ’ feet as they exchange vows or take care of legals at the signing table . Not only will this make for too-cute photos , having your fur baby by your side will help calm any big day nerves .
TIP : Dogs will often inevitably give your bouquet a big sniff , so ask your florist about a fur baby-friendly selection of blooms .

Trust your photographer
Even if the ceremony isn ’ t the best fit for your buddy , you can still include them in the photos . The ‘ getting ready ’ shots are perfect for crowd-shy pups while your wedding party photographs ( often taken out and about on location ) will feel like a fun walk in the park .
FUN FACT : Our favourite dog names for 2021 were Bella , Luna and Coco ( female ) and Charlie , Max , and Buddy ( males ) according to Mad Paws .
5 Represent
If your pet can ’ t make it to the wedding , there are still plenty of ways
to include them . Make them the star of your stationery , the name of your signature cocktail ( Bella ’ s Bellini perhaps ?), or even the topper on your cake . If you ’ re a ‘ must love animals ’ kind of couple , consider an animal charity in lieu of a wishing well or gifts .
