The Whitsundays may spell turquoise waters and tropical islands , but this union shows something more . The stunning , sun-kissed countryside of this magical Queensland region . We love . Backtrack a little from Kirsty and Jacob ’ s beautiful day and you ’ ll find them both growing up in the small mining town of Tieri . In a place where “ everyone knows everyone ”, the pair was bound to cross paths . “ We sort of always knew each other and each other ’ s families ,” says Kirsty . “ Eventually we both moved into Mackay and went to the same high school - but we never really had much to do with each other until I saw Jacob on a night out in 2014 . After that , we started seeing each other and here we are .”

The pair moved in together , added a fur baby ( Charlie ), and spent any downtime enjoying live music and hanging out with their Mackay inner circle . “ We couldn ’ t be more lucky to have such amazing people to call family ,” says Kirsty . A picnic proposal in the Mackay Hinterland sealed the deal on their future together . “ Jacob was super nervous , although I ’ m not sure why ,” says Kirsty . “ It ’ s not like I had been waiting seven years for this , hehe … I was so stoked .” It was a huge moment for couple but Kirsty notes how the excitement spilled over . “ The love bubble is real ,” she says . “ Telling friends and family we were engaged and all the love we felt — it really is such a special time .”
