Eight years later and the couple share a beautiful life together on the Gold Coast with their son , Eli . And while their relationship seems like the result of perfect planning , they ’ ve always embraced the same carefree attitude that brought them together at that first party . Just take , for example , Kevin ’ s proposal : a spur-of-the-moment idea on a holiday to Melbourne . “ I had been thinking about it for some time but didn ’ t know I was going to propose that day ,” he admits . “ At lunch , I had a switch in my head that decided I wanted to do it that day !” To pull off a memorable moment , Kevin first discretely texted Dani ’ s family for approval before taking her on a romantic walk along the Yarra River where he got down on one knee and proposed . So spontaneous was the idea that the groom-to-be hadn ’ t purchased a ring ! He did have one in mind though , and snapped it up online later that night ( with Dani ’ s blessing ).
