Your Board of Directors and I will continue to bring the membership thought provoking, relevant and exciting conferences to enhance your professional development and value to your district.

I believe that over the past few years the association has put itself in a great position for financial stability, both for the short-term and long-term. We have clearly given the organization the ability to seize opportunities and react to unexpected threats while maintaining general operations. We clearly are positioned for the next several years to provide consistent, quality programming and services.

My hope is the upcoming Winter Conference and Spring Budget Workshop will be some of the best ever as we transition from Joey to our new Executive Director. Again, it has been my pleasure to serve as your president for the past two years and I look forward to what lies ahead for us at NMASBO.

President's Perspective

As I look back on my experience as your president for the last 20 months, a couple of questions come to my mind:

Growth – Have our members become better prepared to serve their districts and have they had opportunities to become more involved in the association and develop their leadership skills?

Financial Sustainability – Have we put the association in a position to maintain or expand services for the long term and be able to weather occasional economic shocks in the short term?

As I think about these questions and my experiences over the last year and a half, I do so with humility and heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity to serve the association. I am extremely pleased and proud of the accomplishments and enthusiasm of the Board of Directors with whom I have worked. They have taken on many ambitious goals and have sacrificed many hours to ensure that goals of the organization are accomplished and that the members are offered consistent quality professional development opportunities.
