NMASBO is committed to developing public awareness and appreciation of public school business leaders and the value they add to the daily operations of schools through The School Business Official of the Year which is awarded annually at the Spring Budget Workshop in Albuquerque, NM.

When you see Cynthia Sims from Eunice Public School District, be sure to congratulate her. Mrs. Sims was chosen as NMASBO/AXA’s School Business Official of the Year for 2018. She has been with the Eunice Public Schools since 2000. Her Superintendent and other staff and students recognize her as an outstanding leader. Here are few quotes from her nomination letter:

managing the district budget while also

helping our office personnel reach their

highest potential.”

• “She is one of the humblest individuals that I have ever had the privilege to work with.”

• “She manages to keep the district budget within parameters set by our State Government and the PED, allowing our children great educational opportunities.”

• “When it comes to loyalty, Mrs. Sims is

steadfast.”

• “She is an admirable, hardworking, kind

person that shows no disrespect to anyone. I admire her, I look up to her in her strength, dedication, and determination. I am truly blessed to be working by her and having her as my guide to teach me now that I am here in this position.”

• “We, the staff of the Eunice

Public School District, not only appreciate our Business Manager and friend, but truly admire and believe she reflects and models true Servant Leadership.”
