Engagement with employers
The College supported the Ayrshire Chamber of
Commerce to develop a proposal to create a DYW
Ayrshire regional group to enhance engagement between
employers and education in the region. This group was
launched in October 2015 and the College is supporting
the implementation of its objectives.

Working in partnership with the Chamber the College
offered 20 work placements in 2014-15 to school pupils
from Ayrshire secondary schools.
In 2014-15, 887 school students accessed courses in Early
Years, Construction, Engineering, Automotive, Hospitality,
Games Development, Sound Production, Hair and
Beauty, Fashion, Drama, Psychology and Science.
Throughout the year, we developed capacity with
schools to support the implementation of the vocational
pathways required by Developing the Young Workforce.
To move this forward, we hosted our second Ayrshirewide head teachers
