NATIONAL RANKINGS & RECOGNITION Ten UAB Medicine medical specialties are ranked in the top 50 in the nation, according to the 2017-2018 Best Hospitals ranking from U.S. News & World Report. Four other specialties are listed as ‘high- performing,’ and UAB Hospital is again ranked No. 1 in the state of Alabama and among the top institutions in the Southeast and the United States. “We are pleased that UAB Hospital continues to be recognized for providing world-class health care to the residents of our state, region, and nation,” says UAB Health System CEO Will Ferniany, PhD. “The consistent excellence of our faculty and staff is a reassuring constant during times of change and uncertainty in our country’s health care system.
